Tour UK 2007" - a programme of Indian Classical Sattriya
Dance by Indira P.P. Bora and Menaka P.P. Bora from 16th
September to 20 October 2007 in five UK Cities - London,
Birmingham, Leicester, Manchester and Liverpool. "Gurawe Namah" - a
tribute to Guru Indira P.P. Bora with "An Evening of Dances" by
students of Kalabhumi on 15 July 2007 at Rabindra Bhavan,
Guwahati on the occasion of her Golden Jubilee Celebration of 50
years of
dancing in 2007. Bishnu Rava
prestigious award of Govt. of Assam to Indira P.P. Bora
presented by the Chief Minister Shri Tarun Gogoi at a function
on 20th June 2007 at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati. "Dance and Devotion"
by young performers of Kalabhumi on 27th May 2007 at Vivekananda
Kendra, Guwahati. Sattriya dance and talk on "Meditation and
Healing Dance and Music" by Indira P.P.Bora and P.P. Bora at 8th
APPAN International Festival Symposium 2007( Asian Pacific
Performing Arts Network) on 28 and 29 April 2007 at Seoul, South
Korea. Menaka P.P.Bora presented Sattriya
dance on 15 and 16 July 2006 at "Art In Action,Oxfordshire,UK. Meneka P.P. Bora presented talk on "New Directions in Music
studies" on 7 July 2006 at "Conference of Ethno-musicology" in
Cambrige University,UK. Sattriya dance by Indira
P.P.Bora and
Kalabhumi Dance Company at Dharani Festival of Dance and Music
on 6 November 2005. Menaka P.P. Bora
presents solo sattriya dance at "Les Nuits de L'Inde"
(Nights of India) May 2005 at Cite de la Musique,
Marseille, France.
Menaka P.P. Borah presents a paper-talk on "Indian
contemporary music and culture" at Copenhagen Doctoral School on
11th June 2005 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Menaka P.P. Borah presents solo Sattriya dance and
interactive talk show with Ann David at a Festival on 15th -
16th July 2005 in Oxford, England.
Indira P.P. Borah and artists of Kalabhumi Dance Company
presented an evening of Sattriya dances at famous auditorium of
Kalakshetra Foundation, Chennai on 19th March 2005.. Menaka PP Bora
presented a talk-performance on "Indian
Transnational Music in contemporary London" at International Musicological
Society Conference on 14th July,2004 in Melbourne.
Indira P.P.Bora and her Sattriya
dance company performed Sattriya Dances in Hanoi and Hue festival from 9 to 16th
June, 2004 under cultural exchange programme between Government of India & Ministry of culture of Vietnam.
Talk-performance by Menaka PP Bora on Indian dance culture in contemporary British museums at National Museum, New Delhi on 1st April 2004. Dance performance by Menaka PP Bora at Assam Valley Literary Award ceremony, Guwahati on 13th march 2004.
New Choreographic in Sattriya by Indira PP Bora and performed by Kalabhumi Dance Company at 6th National Choreographic Festival, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 5th March 2004. Premiere of Sattriya Flows: Tradition and Beyond, a new choreographic work of Indira and Menaka PP Bora in collaboration with playwright Girish Karnad at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on 3rd March 2004.
